Education:  University of Michigan: AB, Psychology; Eastern Michigan University:  Specialist in School Psychology

I am excited about beginning my ninth year as the school psychologist in this wondrous community of learners.  The commitment of staff, parents, and students toward achievement and interpersonal development is a joy to observe.  I also am the psychologist assigned to Scarlett Middle School and consult with several non-public schools as well.  Since 1987, I have provided school psychological services to most of the buildings in Ann Arbor, K-12.  My job responsibilities include evaluating students to determine if there are learning difficulties, assessing students' progress, devising strategies and interventions to help improve students' performance and monitoring student progress.  I collaborate with Angell teaching staff and other support staff members including the social worker, teacher consultant, speech pathologist and occupational therapist.  I have worked in outpatient clinical settings in the past, providing support to children, adolescents, and families.  I hold National Certification as a School Psychologist (NCSP) and a State of Michigan Limited License (LLP).

I love to play golf, tennis, and pretend to play the piano.  Our children are graduates of AAPS (Pioneer and Community) and I am the proud grandfather of Zaryah Bower (age nine) and Myanna Bower (age one week!).

I taught for my first 3 years in the Detroit Public school system in 4th, 6th, 7th and 8th grades.  I absolutely loved teaching in Detroit, but a bigger and better opportunity was calling my name in Ann Arbor.  In fall of the 2005-2006 school year I began teaching in the Ann Arbor Public School District and have been doing so for the past 4 years.  This is the start of my 5th year in Ann Arbor, all of which has been in the Kindergarten classroom.   My life has changed before many of your faces.  I went from being Ms. Jones to Mrs. Bullock in 2008 and I am now Mrs. Bullock with a Baby!  Life is wonderful and I enjoy being a wife, mother, and educator.  My passion for teaching has only been heightened in these last 8 years and I look forward to at least 20 more.

Education: BA in Art History and MLS both from the University of Michigan

I came to Angell in 1989 after doing my student teaching at Burns Park and I have been here ever since.  When I first came we had many empty classrooms and the Media Center was twice it's current size but as word got out that Angell was a terrific school we continued to grow and create space to house our students and their many activities.  I feel so fortunate to be doing the work I love at a school with a remarkable and dedicated staff, a supportive parent community and of course incredible kids!

When I am not in a chair with my nose in a book, I might be found walking one of my dogs, at the movies with my husband, in the garden, eating something chocolate or if I am really lucky up north on the beach in Empire where my family spends part of every summer and as many other moments as we can manage.
